January 2025 - New feature for Groups & Events & POS

Dear Partner,

We're glad to announce an additional functionality for Groups & Events & POS partners.

It is now possible to use https://hotels.cloudbeds.com/api/v1.2/docs/#tag/Item/paths/~1postCustomItem/post with parameter groupCode. This is useful for POS or Group & Events apps to post transactions to a Group Folio

If groupCode is used no need to specify reservationID or houseAccountID and the transaction will be sent to the group general folio.

Use https://hotels.cloudbeds.com/api/v1.2/docs/#tag/Groups/paths/~1getGroups/get to retrieve the property group name(s) and groupCode(s), please ensure that you only post to a group with status Open.

Note: Group functionality is a separate module, the property will need to have access to this area to be able to use this new API feature.
