January 2025

The following message was sent on January 8th, 2025 to all Partners and Properties using actively getTransactions:

Dear Partner,

This quarter we are introducing changes to the existing getTransactions endpoint. The getTransactions endpoint will continue to provide transactional data for properties, but will be enriched, with the totals of the transactions still coming to the right amount, though calculations made at an individual transaction level may be affected. A deeper description of these modifications can be found here. This transition will happen for the first customers on February 1st, 2025, and you will need to be prepared to support them by this date.

Additionally we are introducing a new Cloudbeds Accounting Service API which will correlate with the above changes in the getTransactions endpoint. The new accounting endpoints are built off of a new accounting system that Cloudbeds has built to better suit the needs of our customers. Partners will have access to the new Cloudbeds Accounting Service API (found here). At first these endpoints will support transactional data for the same use cases supported by getTransactions, but over time they will be expanded to include transactional data for additional use cases like A/R, Deposit Ledgers and more.

The getTransactions endpoints will eventually be sunset, a timetable for that will be shared later this year. When it is sunset the Cloudbeds Accounting Service API endpoints will be the main way to obtain transactional data from the system. With the addition of new use cases that won’t be supported in getTransactions, we suggest that partners begin the transition to the new accounting endpoints as soon as they are able to.

More details will be provided as we near a go-live-date. In the meantime, for any questions or assistance please reach out to [email protected].
